Ayah pekerja TPs yang menjelaskan kepada anaknya tentang pelabuhan

Surabaya (Friday) – Today (28/7) PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) seemed to be busy with the joy of the children who turned out to be the children of TPS workers, where they looked enthusiastic because they had the opportunity to go around the terminal to see the activities directly at the port.

At the same time using family gathering moments as a means of education for TPS worker families, where the Terminal itself is a restricted area that cannot be accessed carelessly. So through this opportunity, workers can more closely introduce the company industry to their beloved families.

"Dad, the ship is big," said Bilqis funny, one of the children of a TPS worker who is currently still in kindergarten, when he saw the ship docked at the TPS pier. They looked very cheerful and happy when they saw the Volegandros and Wan Fu Da Ships which were docked at the International Pier and the Meratus Batam Ship which was docked at the Domestic Pier.

Setyo, one of the TPS Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) operators, was very happy, because at this moment, besides being able to take his family on vacation to Yogyakarta, he could also show his family directly where and what kind of giant equipment his father operated.

"Really happy and very proud, to be able to see the harbor, see the big equipment controlled by my father to lift containers, cool, very proud of my father! Said Rara, who is Setyo's daughter who is currently in class VI.

As in previous years, this time TPS held a family gathering in Yogyakarta for 3 days and 2 nights. This activity is an annual family gathering agenda whose implementation is divided into 4 trips, namely Trip 1 (28 – 30 July 2023); Trip 2 ( 04 - 06 August 2023 ); Trip 3 (11 – 13 August 2023); and Trip 4 (18 – 20 August 2023), and for this year 411 workers or as many as 1600 family members (including TPS workers) participated.

Carrying the theme "Together Forever", this event which is specifically for employees and their families, before leaving for a port tour to introduce the world of ports to employees' children and their wives/husbands. They looked enthusiastic as they circled the pier and TPS dumping ground.

Wahyu Widodo as the Main Director of TPS said that this Family Gathering moment was a moment to gather and stay in touch with the big TPS family.

"Apart from getting to know the TPS extended family, through Family Gathering activities we can familiarize one another with joint activities, so that it creates a sense of kinship and can encourage TPS workers," said Wahyu.

Wahyu also revealed that we deliberately took the children on a port tour to find out how their parents work, as well as to introduce them to sea transportation. According to him, the introduction of sea transportation is also very important so that children do not only know about land transportation. That way their insights and knowledge also become wider.

"We work for the family, therefore support from them is very important because it can affect the intention and focus at work," said Wahyu.

It is hoped that family gathering activities can bring new enthusiasm and can strengthen friendship ties.
